Edna Meyer-Nelson
Edna Meyer-Nelson is a proud third-generation Houstonian. She attended Aldine High School followed by the University of Houston and earned post graduate degrees from Southern Methodist University and the University of Colorado.
Edna’s generosity and philanthropic spirit know no bounds, earning her a spot as one of H Texas Magazine’s 25 Most Beautiful Houstonians. A longtime board member of Houston Children’s Charity, Edna holds the distinction of presiding as their first female President. She is a member of the Cooley Circle, a charter member of BRASS, Citizens for Animal Protection and The Women’s Fund.
As President and CEO of the Richland Companies, Edna directs all business activities. Since founding the company in 1993 with partner Suzanne Klein, she has purchased, operated and managed over 4 million square feet of commercial real estate valued at over $425 million. She began her career in the banking industry rising to the upper echelon before launching one of the most respected women owned CRE companies in the country. Edna currently serves as Chairwoman of the Board for Agility Bank, N.A., the first women owned and led Minority Depository Institution (MDI) founded for its purpose in the country….and it is located in Houston, Texas!
While her professional accolades are vast, Edna is the only woman to receive Houston Business Journal’s prestigious Landmark Lifetime Achievement Award.
