Heidi Rockecharlie
As a young girl of 7, Heidi fell in love with music during a holiday performance by the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. As an adult in Houston, she got involved with the Houston Symphony, joining the Board of Trustees 23 years ago! She served 2 years and then in 2018 was persuaded by Betty Tutor to get involved with the Symphony League. Heidi’s tenure with the Houston Symphony League stretches from Co-Chair of the Advocacy Committee to VP of Fundraising, and on June 1st, Heidi officially stepped into her new role as President for the Houston Symphony League.
Heidi’s career began in catering at hotels such as the Warwick Post Oak. Her philanthropic aspirations led her to accept a position as the first Special Events Planner for Houston Hospice where she was quickly promoted to Director of Development and Public Affairs. Throughout her adult life, Heidi has held fundraising positions as director, consultant, and/or volunteer for various worthy organizations, including Houston Hospice, Kelsey Research Foundation, St. Jude Foundation, Healthcare for the Homeless, Houston Symphony, The Regis School of the Sacred Heart, and several others. A few of her key volunteer roles include:
Co-Chair of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Soiree, Co-Chair of the Houston Symphony League Fall Luncheon featuring Joanne King Herring and Chair for three Galas benefiting the Houston Audubon Society including the “Songs Across the Lake Gala” with Don Henley of the Eagles.
Heidi’s most recent honors include being named a 2022 Woman of Distinction by the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and as a 2023 Top 20 Inspiring Woman Impact Maker…..and a 2024 Woman of Substance!
