Jacqueline W. Bostic
Mrs. Jacqueline Whiting Bostic is a retired United States Postmaster. She served in many managerial positions as the first woman and or person of color. She ensured that women and people of color received opportunities to advance in their careers.
As a community volunteer she has served on local, regional and national levels in organizations that serve families, women, children and advocate for their civil and human rights. She was the first African American to serve as President and Chairman of The Houston Metropolitan YWCA. She also served as a member of the National Board of the YWCA of the USA. She served as the first woman President of The Houston Postal Credit Union, President of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter, Vice Chair of Delta Education & Charity Foundation, Treasurer of The Women's Auxiliary National Baptist Convention USA, as a Trustee for The Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, National Vice President of Jack & Jill of America and also locally as the President of the Houston Chapter.
Mrs. Bostic currently serves as Trustee and audit Chair for The National YWCA Retirement Fund. This is the second oldest Retirement Fund and Plan in the country. She also serves as Chairman & President of Antioch Project Reach, Inc., a community service non-profit that serves the Freedman's Town community that builds affordable housing and provides food and services for children in need in the community and schools.
She has received many honors and in recent years she has received a Living Legend Award by the Blue Triangle Community Association; the YWCA Outstanding Women Award; Volunteer of The Year, USPS Southern Region; Mayor's History Makers Award, City of Houston;1881 HBCU Blue Legacy Pioneer Award; Delta Charitable Foundation Honoree; Galena Park Houston Metroplex National Women of Achievement Chapter Honoree.
A widow, she is the mother of four children, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
